Information has been gathered from various sources including The Green Papers, FHQ, State Party websites and our Superdelegate List and Unbound Delegate List. Candidates are abbreviated in the chart as follows: R-Romney, S-Santorum, G-Gingrich, P-Paul, and U-Uncommitted. In most cases delegates become unbound once their candidate releases them.

Updated and frozen 4/3/12

Notes:
- While Arizona and Florida are winner takes all according to their state parties, this goes against GOP rules.
- Table is now sortable if you click on a column header.
- In Virginia Mitt Romney and Ron Paul are the only candidates on the ballot.
- For states that don’t allocate delegates to the national convention directly from their primary/caucus the chart shows TBD and the final date in which all delegates will have been allocated. Several states allocate delegates at multiple party functions.

  • States with nothing in the Delegate Allocation Column (0.00 / 0) I came here specifically this time to see if Illinois was a WTA state, but I am curious about all the states that do not have anything in the Delegate Allocation Column?

  • Illinois is a “loophole” primary (0.00 / 0) There are parallel votes in the CDs for the candidate, and for delegates (2-3 per CD). The votes for the candidate are meaningless. The votes for the delegate determine which delegates are selected, and the delegates can endorse a candidate, or not.

In additional there are 12 at-large delegates chosen by the state convention, plus the 3 superdelegates. All 15 are unbound.
