It’s going to depend on where the demarcation is set up. In Charlotte in 2012, most places inside the zone closest to the venues were closed to regular people. Sometimes you could talk someone into getting you a snack of some sort, but mostly they were reserved for functions or delegations. It was harder to find food then you might think if you were someone who was “at” the convention but not attending. There were a lot of people who were either “ambassadors of goodwill” helping people with directions, or people visiting the mobile booths set up, or just walking around hoping to get a glance of (politically) famous people. I don’t know where in Philly the barriers will go up, and hopefully it won’t be what was done when the Pope was here last year.
