The upcoming elections this year “will decide the future and soul of this great nation,” Arizona’s Republican State Committeeman Bruce Ash said.

He also noted the Republican National Committee will be holding its Spring conference in Scottsdale, which could be a beginning to the process to have the 2016 national convention in Arizona.

Phoenix would join Indianapolis, Newark, Dallas and Salt Lake as rumored candidates to bid for a convention in 2016.

Update: Ohio Democratic Party chairman Chris Redfern wants the Dem Convention in Cleveland.
