Voter purge update (4.00 / 1)

Thought I would keep this on my Texas thread. This concerns the Texas voters only. There was a lawsuit not only over the Voter ID law, but also a measure that passed last year on purging voters off the roles. Sure, it's good to get the dead and people that move out of the State off the rolls to unclog the system.

Earlier in October HuffPost ran the above story on the suit. In the article they mention sending out "about 80,000 notices to voters who were dead or "potentially deceased." The voters were told they needed to provide evidence that they were alive within 30 days or they would be removed from the rolls, the lawsuit said." But what did they really purge? Was it 80,000, less, or what?

Well, looking at the early voting numbers from the Secretary of State (Texas) website, there were 13,065,425 Registered Voters for the Runoff election we had in 2012, that was just a couple months ago. As of the numbers provided for the current General Election early results, there are now 8,653,889 Registered Voters. That's a drop of around 5.4 MILLION Voters in just a couple months. Something looks fishy.............
