CHARLOTTE – With the deadline less than two weeks away, the Democratic National Convention Committee is asking local firms to submit prequalification information in advance of bidding to provide exposition and event services for the convention. The convention’s exposition and event services needs cover all types of businesses—from tenting to fencing to graphic production.
Kimberlin Love, DNCC Director of Hall Operations, and Robyn Hamilton, Charlotte in 2012 Host Committee Senior Advisor for Procurement, Business Relations and Diversity, will be available for interviews today. Please contact press@demconvention.com if you are interested.
All firms wishing to bid for a subcontract must register with the Convention Vendor Directory at www.demconvention.com and submit prequalification documents. Prequalification forms are due by April 13.
The DNCC previously awarded Hargrove, Inc., one of the top general services contractors in the United States, with the exposition and event services provider contract in October.
“If you are a Charlotte business owner, there’s a great chance that the convention has a need for your services,” said DNCC Chief Executive Officer Steve Kerrigan. “Whether you specialize in trailers or tents, radios or rental equipment, or moving or millwork, these subcontracts are a great way to become involved in the convention and give your business unprecedented exposure. I encourage all interested firms to register with the Convention Vendor Directory as soon as possible.”
Potential exposition and event services subcontracting opportunities are available in the following fields:
Golf Carts
Trailers
Portable Toilets
Scaffolding and Temporary Stairs
Fencing/Barricades & Exterior Fencing
Cleaning & Janitorial Services
Rental Equipment
Millwork
Moving & Storage
Tenting
Exterior Trash Removal/Waste Management
Radios
Graphic Production
The DNCC will evaluate the proposals based on numerous criteria, including, but not limited to: experience, reliability, relationships to Charlotte, North Carolina, and the surrounding region, participation of union labor, women, minorities, veterans, LGBT and persons with disabilities, and local resources to support the endeavor.
