| From Charlotte Business Journal (subscription required) A Concord hotel is fighting legal action from the Democratic National Convention Committee, which filed suit claiming a contract for room reservations for DNC attendees and staff was breached. Comfort Suites says DNC organizers made agreements with hotel employees who didn’t have the authority to sign off on contracts, according to court filings. Instead, the owner inked a deal with U.S. Homeland Security for rooms during the convention, which runs the first week of September. If you look at our delegate hotel list you'll see that the hotel, Comfort Suites Concord, is not on the list. That doesn't mean it isn't still needed by DNCC or DNC staff. With hotels at a premium this is a pretty big deal. Even though it's less than 50 rooms it's going to force the DNCC to find rooms that are further away. |
