 In the photo are (left to right) Marsha Walker, Beverly Richards, Lydia Henry Reeder, and Kathy Daniels. These long-time friends from Pennsylvania and Maryland drove all night Tuesday into Wednesday to spend the day tooling around Charlotte, and then see the acceptance speech Thursday night. It appears that they will be amongst the thousands of disappointed Americans stymied by the weather and the venue change. Wednesday found them enjoying Charlotte and all the goings on. They'll find out later today if by some chance they get tickets. This is also the case, it turns out, for many people who thought they would be credentialed, aside from the community credentials. It's hard to sort through all the rumors swirling around the streets, but I'm guessing it will all be obvious from the facial expressions this afternoon. |
