Unofficial Denver site

WE’VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at http://www.DemocraticConventionWatch.com

There’s now an unofficial site supporting Denver’s bid to host the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Dan Slater has been promising an official site. We’ll have it here as soon as it’s available.

Question-

During the anniversary of Katrina events, Mayor Ray Nagin was shown on CNN saying that he’s still hoping that the political parties consider New Orleans for 2008.

I thought that New Orleans pulled out of the bidding?

Wow, Denver’s unofficial site kicks butt! GO DENVER!!!

Dear CONFUSED:

The only person who is confused here is Mayor Nagin. If he wanted the parties to consider New Orleans, then his city should have submitted a bid.
And I would think that if they wanted to, given the cirumstances, New Orleans could probably still submit a bid at this late stage. So the ball is in Mayor Nagin’s court on this one.

Hey Matt- Did the DNC anounce the final two on Tuesday? Who made the cut (please be Denver!), and when is the next we’ll hear about anything?

I didn’t see any annoucement from the DNC. I will keep an eye out for it.

To clarify, the final bids were due to the DNC on Tuesday, but I haven’t seen a specific date for the announcement of the final two, only that it would happen in September.
